WELCOME TO HUNTON C of E PRIMARY SCHOOL

A welcome from Mrs Makey, Headteacher

A warm welcome to Hunton CE Primary; a small, caring Church of England primary school set in beautiful countryside south of Maidstone. We are a family community with Christian values at heart, where adults and children genuinely care for one another.

Our Vision

Jesus said, ‘I have come that they may have life in all its fullness.’ (John 10:10)

Following in Jesus' footsteps, pupils at Hunton are encouraged to make positive and courageous choices to open up the world, challenging themselves by stepping outside their comfort zone in order to 'live life in all its fullness'. We relate to the story of Peter stepping out of the boat and walking on the water. He decided to follow Jesus, and was stepping out of his comfort zone and taking a risk. When he started to sink, Jesus caught him and helped him. (Matthew 14)

This vision helps us day to day enable each child to flourish through the provision of the best education; academically, morally, socially and spiritually; and by living out our faith in God so as to ‘Achieve Excellence Together’.

  • We aspire to be a high achieving school with a culture of opportunity for all to strive outside of their comfort zone and challenge themselves
  • We believe that every child is unique and valued by God, with their profound personal development being at the heart of all we do.
  • We provide a rich and stimulating curriculum that inspires and challenges all to achieve, pursuing the skills and knowledge necessary to follow their dreams.
  • We foster warm partnerships with parents, our local community, St Mary’s Church and local charities.

Our children are happy and eager to learn. We are proud of all our pupils’ achievements whether academic, creative or sporting.

This has been recognised by Ofsted: ‘Pupils really enjoy being at school. They love to learn and are confident that staff will protect and nurture them.’ In addition, ‘Pupils behave exceptionally well both in and out of class.’

We value our bond with Hunton and St Mary’s Church very highly and promote our Christian vision, ethos and values of compassion, joy, perseverance and respect in everything that we do.
